Very recently Gregory Tsougranis, co-founder of the Bronx Week Film Festival appeared on the show and spoke highly of a film by filmmaker Rasheed Wilds. The movie, “True Story” tells the story of Hakim, a young African American living in New York City who although he is a great father to his daughter, wants a chance at happiness with the right woman.

New York City students are getting a chance to learn about the life of Anne Frank in a brand new way. There is a simulation of Anne’s room, pictures of her family, and quotes directly from her infamous diary. This is exhibit is a part of the mission of the Anne Frank Center which opened it’s doors in march. The center uses the diary and legacy of Anne Frank to educate the youth on the consequences of racism and discrimination and teaches them how to create a community of respect and acceptance.

NYPD policies are no strangers to making headlines no matter how effective or controversial they are. In recent news, one in particular has garnered attention and that is the "Stop and Frisk" policy. Many are saying that the nypd’s is misusing this policy and cops are being accused of racial profiling. Sheikh Moussa Drammeh spoke in support of stop and frisk and believes instead of badgering cops for the use of stop and frisk, those opposed to the policy should praise those who risk their lives to protect us.

The New York City District-Charter Collaboration Compact signed by the Department of Education is a commitment to address issues between district and charter schools. Out of this commitment, the New York City Collaborates was created and through this initiative charter schools have the opportunity to come together share information and dismiss any previous illusions people had of charter schools.

Proving that size has no barrier on beauty, the miss full-figured usa pageant has been crowning winners for over 23 years. Three pageant winners: Shawn Davenport, Cieula Thomas, and Tonya Giddens where here telling us more.

 

Wallace Roney.

Performing alongside art Blakey, Herbie, Hancock, and the “King of Cool” Miles Davis, Wallace Roney has a lifetime of jazz experience under his belt. Wallace was here telling us all about it.

 

A Shocking True Story.

Our final guests just released their first e.p. Titled “white nights”and they were here to kick off our open summer concert series “a shocking true story!!!”
